The data indicates a negative rise of -7.7% in the consumption for energy purposes during 2022–2023 (from 39,414 BCM in 2021–2022 to 36,383 BCM in 2022–2023).

The research said that the non-energy purpose grew by a pitiful 1.1% (from 22,077 BCM in 2021–22 to 22,319 BCM in 2022-23).

According to the report, the industry that uses natural gas the most—fertilizers—uses 32.35 percent of it. This is followed by municipal or local natural gas distribution networks, which include road transportation (20.06 percent).
