She tweeted her appreciation to her physicians and her promise to recover more quickly.

“Despite all the difficulties, you have always been at my side whenever I have fallen. My confidence in you is unfathomable, just as my faith in God. Today, I see you not only as my medical professional but also as a source of life guidance. Every discussion we have gives me hope, assurance, and clarity. Vinesh wrote, “I appreciate you with all my heart, sir. I’m confident we will recover stronger than before and look back at this time as a modest stepping stone to what awaits us after #Kneesurgery.

Vinesh announced on Tuesday that she will not be competing in the next Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
The wrestler, who received a waiver to skip the Asian Games trials, announced her upcoming knee surgery on August 17 in Mumbai using X, previously known as Twitter.

She said in her message, “I wanted to convey a really sad piece of news. I recently, on August 13th, 2023, had a left knee injury while exercising. The has determined that sadly surgery is the only way for me to recuperate after doing the scans and exams.

“On August 17, I shall have surgery in Mumbai. It was my goal to help India keep the Asian Games gold medal I earned there in 2018. Unfortunately, this injury has now made it impossible for me to compete. I immediately alerted the relevant authorities so that a reserve player could be sent to the Asian Games, Vinesh said.

Vinesh said that she hopes to go back on the mat as soon as possible to start getting ready for the Paris Olympics in 2024.

I would want to ask all of my supporters to stick with me so that I may soon make a strong return to the mat and be ready for the Olympics in Paris in 2024. I feel really strong because of your support,” Vinesh stated.

Vinesh withdrew from Budapest Ranking Series 2023 this month after notifying the event’s organizers and Sports Authority of India (SAI) of her unavailability to compete due to “fever and food poisoning.”

In India’s wrestling contingent, Antim Panghal, who was Vinesh’s backup, will now take her position.

The ad hoc committee granted Vinesh and Bajrang an exemption from the Asian Games, Hangzhou, trials last month. The trials will start on September 23.

The Delhi High Court also denied the wrestlers Antim Panghal and Sujeet Kalkal’s petitions challenging the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI)’s (ad hoc) exemption of both wrestlers for direct entrance for the Asian Games 2023.
